what will I learn?
How to assemble, use and care for SCUBA equipment
How to safely plan and conduct a dive
The basic techniques for a lifetime of diving
Recognised world-wide, the PADI Open Water Diver course is an entry level certification. Students study basic diving theory, learning how being underwater affects the body and how to plan and execute dives. This can be completed online or with us in Munda. Students then learn the basic skills of SCUBA diving with an Instructor, before demonstrating what they have learnt during four open-water dives to a maximum depth of 18 metres. The course is modular in design, allowing students to complete it at a pace that suits them, although a total of four to five days is generally comfortable. On certification, divers are qualified to dive independently (with a buddy) to a recommended maximum depth of 18 metres in similar conditions to those in which they trained.
